The Competition provides students and recent alumni of non-U.S. schools the unique opportunity to access substantial funding and support to implement their business ideas in New York City. The deadline for business summaries is November 7, 2011.

We are inviting teams of 2-5 participants to submit business plans for ideas that may be commercially viable in New York City. Additionally, this year we’re introducing the NYC Connect track that will allow teams to have one New York City-based student on the team. There are no fees for students in this competition.

Six teams of finalists (three from the International track and three from the NYC Connect Track) will win a six-day, all-expenses-paid trip to New York City on the week of March 19th 2012 to participate in the final round of the Competition, which will be hosted at Columbia University.

Your institution was identified as a strong candidate for the Competition and we would welcome participation from your students and recent alumni in the 2011-2012 Competition.

More information on the Competition can be found on the NYCEDC website. In addition, I have attached a small poster that you can use to announce the competition at your institution
